Brisbane Grammar School

Brisbane Grammar is a prestigious independent, non-denominational day and boarding school for boys. It is located in Spring Hill near the Brisbane CBD. The school was established in 1868. It currently caters for approximately 1,600 students from years 5 to 12, including 100 boarders.

During the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, Brisbane Grammar School was given special attention due to the numerous allegations the school had received over child sexual abuse. This had been in particular to the offences committed by Mr. Kevin Lynch who was school counsellor at Brisbane Grammar between 1973 and 1988. Mr. Lynch was eventually charged by Queensland Police Service, but evaded justice in the courts by committing suicide. In the end, the school has been greatly criticised and reproached for its protection and cover up of Kevin Lynch’s behaviour.

Moody Law (formerly Artemis Legal) has represented and is still representing victims who were abused by Kevin Lynch at Brisbane Grammar Schooll. We invite former students, teachers and parents to contact us to tell us confidentially what information they may have, and we will explain what options are available to help with these cases.
