Rangeview Remand Centre

Rangeview Juvenile Remand Centre, located in the Perth suburb of Murdoch, was established in 1994 as a response to over-crowding in the deteriorating facilities at the Longmore Remand and Assessment Centre. The Centre catered for both male and female offenders aged between the ages of 10 to 17 years old who were waiting trial at the time.

In 2012, Rangeview closed down and was replaced by the Banksia Hill Juvenile Detention Centre in the Perth suburb of Canning Vale. Rangeview closed down due to staffing shortages, poor management, and extended detainee lockdowns due to staffing shortages as identified by the Office of the Inspector of Custodial Services in Western Australia.

Moody Law has in the past represented and is still representing clients who have been sexually abused whist they were placed in remand and detention centres by state government departments around Australia.

We invite former victims of sexual and very serious physical abuse at Rangeview Remand Centre to tell us confidentially what information they may have, and we will explain what options are available to help with these cases.
